Local : The Faces
of Small Business
|
"Local"
is an intimate look at small businesses. I want to show
visually how small businesses interact with the community
in a way large chains cannot. It is a work in progress
and is my first extended documentary project. I have
estimated the project to go on for two years so that
I can cover the growth, changes, openings and closings
of small businesses in Long Beach.

March for Women's
Lives

In April 2004,
over a million women marched on the National Mall in

women and men marched in unison.

The Last Time I Saw
My Brother
|
My younger
brother joined the Army at 19. Since he has joined,
I have seen him once. I shot a portrait of him with
a 4x5 view camera two days before he began boot camp.
I later flew to Fort Benning in Columbus, GA to do a
similar portrait on his graduation day. This series
tracks the changes he has undergone since he has joined
the Army.
